Applying for Financial Aid
The first step is to create Your FSA ID
An FSA ID is a username and password that you must use to log in to certain U.S. Department of Education (ED) websites. Your FSA ID identifies you as someone who has the right to access your own personal information on ED websites such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) site at fafsa.gov.

The second step is to complete the FAFSA
Fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on-line at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

The Third step is applying for Student Loans. You need to complete the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note. If you’d like more information, please visit: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/next-steps/entrance-counseling
Entrance/Exit Counseling
- Complete the Student Direct Lending Loan Entrance Counseling at the Department of Education Website: www.studentloans.gov
- Master Promissory Note
- Student must sign the Master Promissory Note in order to receive a student loan. Signing a promissory note means you agree to repay the Student Loan according to the terms of the note.
- To complete the Master Promissory Note please go on-line at: www.studentloans.gov

This site (www.studentloans.gov) is your source for information from the U.S. Department of Education about how to manage your student loan.
The National Student Loan Data system www.nslds.ed.gov (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education’s central database for student aid. It receives data from schools, agencies that guarantee loans, the Direct Loan program, the Pell Grant program, and other U.S. department of Education programs.
For further information about your loans, you may contact the holder of the loan or visit the NSLDS web site at www.nslds.ed.gov.
Note: Please refer to your award letter received from the University for any grants, or scholarships etc. not displayed on NSLDS.
